Part 2 – Promotional USB Sticks Vs Branded Mobile Power Banks

This is part 2 of our series of blog comparing the 2 most popular branded technology products in our catalogue; the promotional USB sticks against the branded portable power bank.

We discussed USEFULNESS in the first blog. The next topic of comparison we’ll focus on in this blog is the variety of casing available to marketers when marketing with these 2 fantastic promotional technology products.

VARIETY OF CASING

The variety of casing is a critical determinant factor when going through your decision making process. When comparing the variety of casing between the printed charger power banks and the printed USB sticks, it is important to factor in how long these promotional technology products have been around. USBEXTRA was one of the pioneers of the branded USB sticks 12 years ago whilst we also lead the way with the branded external battery power bank 2 years ago.

These maturation years for the personalised USB stick cannot be matched by the much heralded branded power bank. The development years not only effect the variety of casings available for the promotional USB flash drive, the size of IC Chips also lends easily for the branded memory stick to be adapted to huge ranges of promotional memory stick variations.

For the printed power bank, there is not YET the variety of casing designs as we have to incorporate a sizeable lithium-ion battery in the branded portable charger power bank. Notice a sample battery image below:-

The PBX-202 personalised power bank charger is a tube-like power bank whilst the PBX-203 printed charger is a rectangular shape casing – both can be inserted with 2200mAH to 3000mAH lithium ion batteries. We also have the PBX-101 credit card shaped branded power banks which can only be inserted with 850mAh – 1150mAH batteries due to its flatter shape. It is STILL just so difficult to develop more diverse and worthy (in terms of battery power) promotional chargers with the battery sizes we have at the moment. As the development of the battery advances with more compact lithium battery shapes, the development of the power bank casing will advance even further.

When it comes to promotional USB sticks, we have many basic casing shapes of personalised USB memory sticks that have been developed over the years by many ‘public mould’ developers. These divers ranges can be seen on the USBEXTRA personalised USB pinterest board. Also, the advancement in the IC Chip and the maturity of the product has translated into viable promotional USB drive casing shapes like the branded credit card USB drives, promotional executive pen USB sticks, personalised leather USB memory sticks and many others.

The personalised USB flash drive has been in development for many years now and it’s not really a fair pointer to make a decision on.
