We make pivotal decisions all the time and we sometimes rely on online review sites to help our decision making process.
The full research can be read on the
competition and markets authority (CMA)
site. According to the CMA, almost 60% of us make decisions based on these bogus online reviews. It is very sad to find that a great deal of the reviews
that we base our decisions on are either bought or manipulated by some sites looking to maintain the subscription of the companies on their sites. With £24
billion of spending influenced by online reviews, I guess we can see why some companies are manipulating reviews.
Along with ‘Astroturfing’ (practice of creating fake grass root reviews), the CMA also reported about:-
Online review sites only selecting positive reviews.
Fake reviews being written by businesses to enhance their status on online review sites.
Online review sites granting companies to fix negative reviews. These negative review will not be published and thereby providing an incomplete picture
to users.
Furthermore, the BBC found that buying fake reviews is a global industry.
Companies are enlisting fake review businesses that steal identities whilst some other companies are buying reviews from places like Bangladesh. It is as
easy as making a new profile of Facebook or Google Plus and writing a review for 5USD (or £3 in Sterling). The CMA also reported“ examples of suppliers paying bloggers sums of between £100 and £500 in return for a blog post about a product or service”, and up
to £50 for a pair of tweets," the report said. This is the length some business will go in order to close trust gap that is meant to be earned the hard
way.
For the promotional USB drives sector, there are a few sites out there with ONLY great reviews.
Who knows how many of these are legit?? We can’t really talk about any other company. We can only back ourselves with our experience and relate the breadth
of work that the USBEXTRA has undertaken.
This is one of the reasons why we set up USBEXTRA’s Pinterest page. Companies like Barclays, Heineken, FIAT, Air France, Delta Airlines, P&G, Range Rover Evoque and many others trust USBEXTRA for the
quality of products we manufacture. As most of us can see better than we can read, please notice some of these fantastic branded technology products below.
Because we’re a trusting society, we believe what people say. For ourselves, we aim to be more careful when reading reviews and actually look for a body of
work that verifies any assertions made. We hope the examples of our work depicted above underscores the credence major institutions have in USBEXTRA.
We produce the most extensive and varied branded USB drive products. As can be seen with the variety above, our reputation is in our work and the countless companies that have trusted us to be a significant part of their marketing mix. If
there’s anything we can help with or if you have any questions, please contaft the USBEXTRA team on sales@usb-extra.co.uk or +44 11 33 50 50 65.
