The following series of blogs will follow the hotel marketing sector and how they use their logo branded USB sticks in their different campaign.
This very 1st blog is focussing on the IHG Group. Even though not many know them as the IHG group, this group of hotels possibly have the widest location
range of any hotel chain. This might be different were we to mention Holiday Inn, Holyday Inn Express, Crowne Plaza, Hotel Indigo, Candlewood suites, and
many others. I'm sure many more will be familiar with this brand as they’re all part of the IHG group. IHG stands for International Hotel Group; they have
over 5000 hotels worldwide spread across over 100 countries. A successful home grown multi-national company based in Uxbridge, Middlesex, IHG is the
largest hotel group in the world using the number of rooms metric scale - they have over 700,000 rooms across the group.
Even though 50% of the hotels are operated under a banner franchise, the marketing is done centrally and facilitated through different streams like the IHG
reward loyalty program or like the “business in a box” marketing program campaign which was the aim of this branded USB commission. The IHG branded USB
premiums were targeted specifically to their business clients; the used the USB premiums to develop and manage business membership, increasing brand equity
by promoting brand loyalty.
We specifically developed branded USB commission for 3 of the more prominent Hotels in the IHG group – these were Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and the Holyday
Inn Express hotels. They chose our FDC-023, a fully metallic material USB flash drive that is packaged in our transparent PP box that showcases the branded
USB memory stick from the outside of the box. We also preloaded the USB sticks with the IHG reward and loyalty system. The IHG promotional USB commissions can be seen below:-
